Touching article on autism and interesting video

I’ve mentioned autism a lot in the past. Its a subject that really fascinates me on multiple levels, and this video and article really touches upon something. The notion of what is your world and what is my world. What really got to me was how she interacts with her surroundings and essentially takes it all in. Something I used to do when I was a kid. Living in my own world yet conforming to this world to “fit in” and yet never really fitting in.
My question is…can autistic tendencies be stifled or suppressed?
