dating vs smoking

i’ve tried and failed to quit smoking again…lasted all but a few weeks. not too shabby. but now it’s time to kick it up a notch.

Since i’m on the dating warpath, i’ve come to realize that dating is expensive. Smoking is expensive. one of these needs to stop.

So let’s compare the two.

Pros of dating:

  • keeps my hands and mouth occupied
  • breaks up the monotony of the week
  • getting some mclovin’

Pros of smoking

  • breaks up my day into bits
  • keeps my hands and mouth occupied

Cons of dating

  • expensive at first
  • less down time, of which i need a bit.
  • the games they all seem to play
  • ruins mental health

Cons of smoking

  • smells bad
  • constantly expensive
  • ruins physical health
  • gets car all ashy
  • everywhere is becoming smoke free

Things seem to be even, but in the end…dating wins. If nothing else, my love for gadgets. This time around, as opposed to just quitting, I will be socking away money each time i want to get a pack of cigs and put that into my gadget fund. I have a separate dating fund, but that’s not the point. I figure i can get the new 3G iphone in about 3 months. What will i celebrate with once i get it? not a cigarette you cheeky bastard!

So quitting here i come! Again.
