damn…have been having too many distractions. now getting back to task as the year is winding down (i know its barely august), but there are a lot of things to do and i’ve been putting things off for the sake of actually having a life.
my conclusion? having a life is overrated. sure its fun going out, socializing, meeting new people, and whatnot, but at what price?
let’s see if i can break it down.

dinner - 4 hrs
coffee - 2 hrs
day trips ie…beach/musuems - 10 hrs
hanging out with friends doing who knows what - 4-8 hrs
misc social activities - 5 hrs
that’s a lot of time. granted that most of these activities are fun and i enjoyed every single one of them, but i’ve been pushing projects further back because I felt the need to try and balance my life out. what i’ve concluded is that unless i can add about 8 more hours to the day, there just isn’t enough time to do everything i want and need to do.

I don’t know how people do it. I hear about how others do all these things and still get their shiet done. but then again, how many of these people have more than 1 job? At last count, I have 3.5, where the .5 is supposed to be time devoted to developing upcoming projects. yes it’s an excuse, but a damn valid one. i dont want to be a cog in the machine forever.
All that jazz about having a ‘balanced-life’ is completely hogwash.  to truly have that balanced life would mean that something needs to get neglected, because there just isn’t enough time in the day to do everything. shoot not even on weekends. so now its time to get back to neglecting the social life (after this weekend) and get back on course.

good bye social life. hello hermit!
