a startup life
Why Geeks and Nerds are Worth It… wow 3 posts in 1 day! - living your dreams
Feb 22

i recently left a very lucrative and promising career with a gigantic company to go back to my roots…ok. 1 or 2 of the above statements is false…but which?

I decided to go back to a startup because no matter how much money these other places were throwing at me, not being able to give creative input and actually have a say in things really made me feel hindered. So I jumped onto the startup bandwagon and am going full steam ahead. The most interesting aspect aside from the usual, like flex time, knowing everyone, and the like, is that no matter how many hours i put in at the office, I put more in at home…so the usual 40 hours stops existing. Yet it doesnt feel like work. Ahh…the joys of early stage companies.

Yes there is going to be pains, but hopefully this will be the final startup risk I take…for now. The rewards will be so much greater aside from the obvious financial rewards, should we get ginormous, but its learning how to go from small to HUGE. That’s what I like the most about joining these startups, is seeing it grow and being part of it, and of course learning about the growing pains so that I know what to expect when my company takes off.

Ahh..one of these days I will have a store in every major city, and just hang out with good friends and family drinking tea smoothies.
