PixsyPower: Your Own Media Search Engine

Yesterday we covered a Pixsy-powered search tool FINDITALL. And only on December 19 Pixsy Corporation itself announced launch of PixsyPower. This project has actually been talked about since September and is really long-awaited.
The new service enables users to place a form for search of images and video content on their website, blog or home page. At that the results are displayed right on the page where the form is located instead of redirecting to the search engine website: the latter variant is implemented by, for example, Eurekster Swicki which offers a similar service.
It only takes three simple steps for you to start using PixsyPower service:
- register (for free);
- specify the search criteria;
- put a simple code to generate PixsyPower on the website you want.
These steps result in something like this:

You are free to try it out for yourself right now.

PixsyPower provides a user with quite a number of customization opportunities for the search form (but, honestly, the customization procedure of Eurekster Swicki seemed to be more flexible and handy to me). First, you can choose a content category (e.g. business news and sports) or a provider of content to be searched. The list of content providers is quite large and includes 17 various top websites. Second, you will need to choose whether you want to include only video, images or both in search results. And finally, you customize your form: choose its size, color set and default keyword for the search bar.
A user is able to create any number of search forms that are managed in My Toolbox tab. Another tab - My Reports – contains reports on query words and hits for the user’s forms.
Besides the search form a user can decorate his or her website with select photos and videos. These photos and videos are updated dynamically. So whatever your visitors do on your website, you will always provide them with fresh media content.
My conclusion? PixsyPower is really a great service enabling you to enhance your website for free and with truly little effort. I definitely recommend to try it.
