Thanksgiving 2.0

Everyone’s wishing me a happy Thanksgiving today. Since I’m not in the US, this doesn’t actually feel like holiday here. But with so many congratulations arriving to my inbox, it really feels like our own private holiday here at Profy.
Anyway I want to say I’m really happy that so many people on my contact lists have a holiday today and eat the traditional turkey. And of course you remember that happiness gets multiplied when shared? So I do hope that everyone who celebrates Thanksgiving today will have their happiness (and turkey, too) multiplied by sharing it with us – the rest of the world without the turkey tradition.

And me personally I want to thank Web 2.0 for giving me the opportunity to share this holiday with you all. So what’s really Web 2.0 in Thanksgiving Day?

Well, first it’s now so easy to get to know about the history and traditions of the Thanksgiving Day. And everything in one place. Which place? Wikipedia, of course.

Then I have found a great collection of thanksgiving turkey recipes on a social recipes site. Even without having a grandmother to propagate you a turkey recipe, you will manage cooking a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. Still in trouble? Try this video from YouTube for help.

But if you are too lazy for cooking, you will still be able to find a restaurant to eat that traditional dinner – here is where you’ll find a great choice of restaurants. But if you don’t have someone to go to the chosen restaurant with, you’ll definitely find someone on Meetup in a group like this.

But if you are against killing so many turkeys for the sake of a single holiday, you can always go support Animal Defenders International.

And I wonder if by the next Thanksgiving Day we’ll be able to buy some hotel for Profy at SecondLife and arrange a great international celebration there? And eat some virtual turkey there?
