I came across this interesting site called BuzzTracker. It’s basically a site that takes into account how many blogs are posting about a particular story and then ranks them in terms of popularity.
It’s pretty interesting to see it work. Could be a great way to get some of the most talked about news out of the way.
The only thing I dislike about sites that do this is that there are many smaller stories that tend to get buried that might have interested you but because the “crowd” didn’t like it, you may miss it. Nonetheless, it is a pretty cool site.
This has got to be the most interesting bit of news that I have read in a while. It seems as if the Japanese women are longing for…Korean Men! Woohoo!!!
It seems as if they have been watching too many of the sappy korean drama shows and movies and they now see us as very loving and caring men that they want as their husbands. This could be the start of a mail order husband for koreans to go to Tokyo. Although, I don’t know many that would do so, but I must admit, there are some pretty hot japanese chicks out there. And…well… I wouldn’t mind.
You can read more in this Washington Post article.
“South Koreans are so sweet and romantic — not at all like Japanese guys, who never say ‘I love you,’ ” Yoshimura said as she waited for her blind date, a single Korean man, in the 50th-floor bar of a chic Tokyo skyscraper. A telephone operator who lives with her parents in Hiroshima, she has spent thousands of dollars on her quest for a Korean husband, flying to Seoul 10 times in the past two years and bullet-training to Tokyo for seven blind dates with Korean men.
Now I must go to Tokyo and look for some hot chicks! woohoo!!!
Here’s a great warning about what you do with your cell phone once you are done with it and have upgraded to a newer phone. Especially now-a-days with so much technology in them, such as email, web, text messaging, etc. Even though you think your data has been erased, there are software out there that can resurrect your info.
Take a look at this yahoo article that talks about the problems with just tossing your used phone.
For us Treo users, there is what’s called a “zero out reset” that completely wipes out the info and Trust Digital, the company that can resurrect the info, said they were unable to get any data off of a Treo that did the “zero out reset.”
Palm Inc., which makes the popular Treo phones, puts directions deep within its Web site for what it calls a “zero out reset.” It involves holding down three buttons simultaneously while pressing a fourth tiny button on the back of the phone.
But it’s so awkward to do that even Palm says it may take two people. A Palm executive, Joe Fabris, said the company made the process deliberately clumsy because it doesn’t want customers accidentally erasing their information.
Trust Digital resurrected erased e-mails and other information from a used Treo phone provided by The Associated Press after it was reset and appeared empty. The AP ordinarily purges its phones the correct way, but for demonstration purposes turned over a reporter’s phone that had been simply reset to see whether Trust Digital could recover the information. It did.
Once the AP phone was properly wiped using Palm’s awkward zero-out technique, no information could be recovered.
I bought the Macbook about 2 months ago and I haven’t been disappointed. The first thing I did when I got it was upgrade the RAM from 512MB to 2 GB, which is really what it needs to run well.
My impressions after using it for this long and this being my first Mac is that it’s not only easy to use, but also fun. I did have some qualms about the Macbook because it did run super hot, like some people have said, but recently Apple has released a firmware upgrade which keeps the fans running longer which makes the laptop run cooler. This has definitely been an added bonus.
I do enjoy using many of the mac’s features, granted, I probably only really use a small percentage, as I’m still trying to get used to it. But the most fun has been using the built in isight alont with Photobooth. Just taking random pictures here and there is great. And it’s also great for using with Skype and iChat for video conferencing. This has definitely helped me stay in touch with some of my team that are spread out all over the world.
Then there’s Front Row, the Macbook’s built in media organizer/player. Too bad it only works with the programs that are already preset for it. If I could use the Apple Remote along with Photo Booth, that’d be totally awesome or even with some other programs like VLC. But alas, it wasn’t meant to be unless you use a third party software. There are some great solutions out there such as Mira, by Twisted Melon. The program worked great for me but crapped out because of some other software I had installed, and I have yet to figure out which one it was. But it did was it was supposed to do, and when it did work, it was great to be able to use other programs with the remote.
Of course there are the widgets. These are fun little utilities, but I hate the fact that I can’t keep one widget open on the desktop all of the time. Instead I have to show all of the widgets, which is a pain. It’d be awesome if someone could create an app that will allow you to display one or a few widgets on your desktop at all times.
Aside from some of the quirks of the Mac, I don’t really have too many complaints for the little guy. I do find myself doing things on my PC that I can do on the mac, such as using expose. I’ve configured my macbook to use expose when I move the mouse to the lower right hand corner, which is really a great tool, and I tend to do that on a PC, which doesnt have that feature.

It has now been 7 days since I lost my hearing in my left ear. Still disoriented. Still dizzy. Still nauseous. It’s definitely been weird when I hear people talking, because I keep turning to my right, when they are really near my left side. So it’s been wacky. I don’t recall if I already said this, but I realized how often I talk to people on my left side. When I am walking around with people, I am normally on their right side. Pretty wacky. But now I have to just really deal with this. And it’s kinda depressing. I’ve read some articles that some people that have had Sudden Hearing Loss have gained their hearing back spontaneously. i do hope that is something that happens to me, but we’ll see how it goes. For today, I am getting an MRI to see what could have been the cause of the Sudden Hearing Loss.
For now though, all I can do is just wait and see really, and try not to lose my hearing in my good ear. What’s really annoying is that there is almost this constant high pitch sound in my left year. I can’t get rid of it. I hope that’s a good sign that I haven’t totally lost my hearing. But for now, I can’t hear jack crap out of it. Pretty sucky. But the fact that I am still dizzy and nauseous is what really worries me. I mean, what will this be something that I have from now on? Is it because I lost my hearing and I’m just disoriented? I hope I get used to it so I can actually get some work done and just diddle around waiting to vomit.
So what’s in store for the future? Who knows. If a hearing aid is a possibility then I would definitely get one…stylish one of course and hopefully an in-ear unit. If that’s not a possibility, learn to talk to people on my right side, and get used to it.
That’s life…Gotta roll with the punches. This isn’t my first set back, and probably not my last.
I just can’t wait to see what the cause is.

Have you been looking around for a bag that fits your needs? Still haven’t found that perfect bag? Well…you can get as close to perfect with the Timbuk2 Datadump Daypack. It’s great for trekking around and having your gear with you. This bag has a lot of pockets and comes with a cable organizer pouch.
I will do my best to get some pictures up and running, but if you are need for a backpack type of bag, this is pretty great, especially for quick jaunts or a weekend getaway.
If you are looking for a great messenger type bag, then take a look at my macbook messenger review. It’s also a Timbuk2 bag.
All-in-all, with all of the bags that I have urchased over the years especially within the past few months, I have been pretty happy with timbuk2. One reminder is that since they don’t come with shoulder straps, I highly recommend getting one as it really makes a big difference when carrying a heavy load on your shoulders.
It looks like they are also having a special. You get a free accessory pack with a daypack purchase. Get one now!

This is one interesting product as it has the basic functionality of a tablet pc, but without the pc. Basically a glorified notebook and pen set that will capture your notes electronically and then can later be uploaded to your windows machine.
If this thing is as good as it sounds, I’d totally get one. It will have 32 MB internal memory good for 135 digital pages and have about 20 hrs of battery life. There is also an SD expansion slot, which is great for those of us that already use one.
The only thing that I would like to see if there is handwriting recognition software with this and if its possible to edit the text and images on the sheet such as moving whole text and images around the page or if it’s really like a notepad and you have to write linearly. If you can really move images and text around to edit your notes on the fly, then this thing could be a winner. What could make it better would be to make it for a mac!
