Super Glue as a security measure?
Running a business? Paranoid of getting your info stolen? Well check this out. Sumitomo bank in Japan was robbed of nearly half a billion dollars ($440 million) when people disguised as cleaners and with the help of a security guard installed these small keyboard loggers, the can be found at ThinkGeek, they call it the Key Katcher.
Basically these guys installed this small keyboard logger that plugs into the back of the computer into the keyboard port, similar to a keyboard extender. This basically allowed them get all of the passwords and wire transfer codes and what not and basically logged in and transferred the money into multiple offshore accounts.
The bank has since taken extra security measures by super gluing the keyboards onto the computers. I suppose this is one way, but then again, there are software key loggers that are virtually undetectable that can be sent through some simple file attachments.
In any case….this gets a high level of wtf?
