If you’ve ever sat down with me for more than a few minutes, you know that it’s hard to keep my attention. I know have I have ADD or attention deficit disorder or even ADHD, which is attention deficit hyper disorder. or something like htat. You look it up. =D

Here’s a great article about some research done regarding ADHD and kids with ADHD. They tend to be more creative! Go figure. It would also explain my impulsive behavior when it comes to purchasing things, making decisions as well as relationships. But that’s besides the point. What’s really interesting about the article is how they mention a person with ADHD as having the ability of extractability or thinking different. My motto has been “what box?” to reflect my idea of not being constrained by a box whether it’s the outside of the box or within.

What’s interesting is that I have been trying to control the impulsiveness aspect of my ADD lately. Especially when it comes to buying stuff, such as electronics and whatnot. There has already been 3 instances where I almost bought a 24″ monitor from Dell, the mac mini and now the new iMac G5. These are just the recent impulses. I made it all the way to the checkout confirmation page, but then thought better of the purchase. Especially since I plan on buying a house in the near future. I’m also controlling what I say, albeit, it is getting a bit more difficult to not just blurt something out, or let every thought just come on down, but I am getting better at it.

So for anyone on ritalin because THE MAN thinks you need it to calm down or stay focused, get off of it! No more FOCUSIN!
