So Apple didn’t bust out an iPod video per se, but they did launch some new ipods that can play video and has a wider color screen them. THey can play 30 fps so that you can watch video and htey do have tv out. I’m guessing since this is their first fun for the video component that later versions will have more native support and capabilities. Right now, they only play mpeg4 and mov files. The real kicker would be support for divx as well as avi files. Then this would be kick ass! As it stands though, this attempt is a good one.

They also updated their line if iMacs. They are now thinner, feature their Front Row software and remote which looks like an iPod shuffle and they also have a built in iSight. They also have a new feature called Photobooth which basically lets you take a picture and add some snazzy effects.

If this is what they are offering right now, I can’t wait to see what they will be offering in January during the usual keynote and product updates. I wonder if they’ll introduce the macintels at that time. That’d be sweet!

I know that’s what I’m really waiting for as I would love to own a mac, but the cost is stull suge a HUGE factor. But if the first versions don’t look as good as the macs I’ll probably break down and get myself an iMac or something.

Overall, I can’t say that I’m all hyped up from this line of updates and the new iPod. I wouldn’t be surprised if they have a rush of sales for this similar to the nano.

Granted, they do give you the ability to purchase some shows like Lost the day after it has aired, what I’d really love to see is the ability to use TivoToGo with the iPod and dump my shows on there for later viewing. I think this would really help make this iPod stand out even more so. Has anyone else done this already?
