AppleInsider is speculating that next weeks special announcement will be for the new Apple iPod Video. It is rumored to be a few millimeters smaller than the current 60GB model, will have a smaller scroll wheel so that it can have a longer screen to accomodate video playback.

They say that this is highly plausible because their were some specs leaked out of a new iPod being in production with video capabilities as well as possibly a new Airport Express that will have video out, which would be unbelievable! if this rumor holds true, I may have to upgrade from my mini to an Apple iPod video. Another cause for speculation is because Apple has stopped regularly updating their music videos which means a massive update is coming soon. Maybe movies a la pixar? I just hope it can play divx, mpeg and avi, and not some proprietary crappola.
