Switch to Apple?
YES!
For years when people have asked me if they should buy an Apple or stick with a pc, I would first ask them, what they plan on using it for. If was for something other than graphics or movie editing, I would tell them stick with pc. But then they’d say that Apple has cooler products and stuff. I would just say, tuff!
My main reason for telling them to stick with a pc wasn’t because of the cost of the pc’s themselves, but its the cost of software for Apple. If you need things like Mac Office and the other suites, it was quite costly. But now, Apple has introduced not only a great product called the Mac mini, which is only $499, but they also have the iLife suite and now…iWorks. It’s the much needed update to the AppleWorks set of software, but now it really makes switching sense. As it only costs $75! You would probably still want to get Mac Office, but with the introduction of of all of the suites that Apple has to offer, why not make the switch?
This and the fact that the new os update, Tiger, will have a bunch of features that really will make using a computer fun and easy, like their Spotlight feature, the Dashboard, and the fact that it’s pretty much virus free makes it a worthy purchase.
I can’t say enough about the Apple line of products. Once the updated OS is offered on the Mac mini during shipping, I am so there. The sheer size of it is ridiculous. It can fit in the palm of your hand with a height that is half that of the ipod mini. If you were looking for a reason to try out the Mac this would be the way to do it. It’s affordable and looks darn snazzy!
