Gizmondo portable gamer
According to kotaku there is a rumor that Microsoft may be porting Halo over to the Gizmondo portable player, hoping that it will launch the portable player out of obscuredom like it did for the xbox.
The stats for the gizmondo device look interesting but the quirky thing is that it will have GPS. Why? According to their site it is so that people can play these games using real structures. To this I say, whats the point? Why not put something really great like wi-fi? So then I can beat the crap out of my friends in Halo while we are riding the subway to nowhere or just hanging out at some coffee shop.
I think Microsoft needs to choose it’s partners better. Money doesn’t fix everything, nor can it put a crappy product great.
The main thing these guys need to know about creating a portable device is not only to have some kick ass hardware and software, but it’s to have a LONG LASTING BATTERY! I still have my old gameboy, and it will still last a good 14 hours of gameplay on 4 double A’s. According to reports the new PSP will only last about 3 hrs. That’s not long enough for me to fully enjoy the game throughout the day.
But we’ll see when Gizmondo officially launches their device.
Does anyone recall the Tapwave? Anyone. Tapwave? The pda gaming device that was going to revolutionize the pda industry? It was hailed as the portable gaming device for the 20 somethings. I’m 20 something, and I thought it was crap. Lack of games. Giant hardware.
But then again, I have been known to be wrong. For instance I still have a sega dreamcast.
