End of an era?
An end of era is on the horizon. Many of you (all 2 of you) that have been reading this site know that aside from being absolutely brilliant, also know that I have been running a tea company, selling, what else, loose leaf tea. After a little over two years and many foulups later, it seems the inevitable is about to happen. In the coming months, if certain numbers are not hit and certain sales quotas are not met, I am going to take the road less traveled and close up shop.
It’s been quite a great adventure and a whole lot of learning, both about the business world as well as myself. From the business world, I learned the do’s and don’ts of sourcing products, doing financials, choosing partners, and most of all, dealing with the stresses of running a business and what to do when deadlines are not met.
But for now and over the next few months, I am going to do my best to keep the numbers up and keep the company going, while at the same time I am going to start researching my next venture. It probably won’t happen for a while, but it will definitely happen again.
And maybe one day, I will bring back the tea company as it is meant to be…which is the form of the tea shop!
I am definitely saddened by this but hopeful for the future.
The one greatest thing that will be coming out of this is more freedom. Ironic, how I started the company so I can get more freedom, but it’s not until the company folds when I will get it.
